Horse Hoof Care: Why It’s Essential
The horse’s hoof is the foundation of the entire “equine machine,” and proper care is essential for health and performance.
The coronary band is where hoof growth begins and stimulating microcirculation here supports natural physiological processes.
Support to Traditional Hoof Care
As a complement to conventional methods (supplements, topical treatments, corrective shoeing), LoveHorses has developed the Bio Footlife bioceramic hoofcover.
When to Use the Hoofcover
In the stable or paddock, especially during colder periods, when hoof growth may be slower.
Avoid excessively muddy ground.
When hoof growth needs to be stimulated, thanks to the action of bioceramic technology on microcirculation around the coronary band.
When the interval between farriery appointments needs to be shortened, for example during a hoof alignment correction programme, when the farrier needs to intervene more frequently to support proper hoof growth and shape.
Alongside a farriery programme, supplements and veterinary treatments, as part of the horse’s regular hoof care routine.
How to Use Bio Footlife Hoofcover
After cleaning the horse’s hoof: make sure the hoof and the area around the coronary band are clean and dry.
Fitting the hoof cover: position the hoof cover correctly and fasten it with the hook-and-loop strap.
Washing and care: the bioceramic hoof covers can easily be washed by hand or in the washing machine using a regular detergent.
They can also be spin-dried in the washing machine without affecting the properties of the technical fibre.
Important Notes
The Bio Footlife bio-ceramic hoofcover does not replace veterinary diagnosis or treatment. Our bio-ceramic fibre is not a medication and must not be used as medical therapy.
It is, however, an effective complementary support for daily hoof management.
