The problem: pressure and saddle sores on the withers
Horses with high or prominent withers always pose a significant challenge for riders. When a standard saddle pad is used, the movements during work and the saddle itself push it downward. This continuous pressure leads to uncomfortable consequences on the withers:
- Intolerance and stiffness in the horse during training.
- Development of saddle sores, chafing, or hair loss.
The modification: from the Whinny model to Whinny Light
Who knows LoveHorses products also knows that our Whinny model is appreciated for its side pockets featuring wool felt inserts. To respond to a specific request from one of our customers, we created a variation: Whinny Light.

Unlike our classic Whinny model, the Light version does not feature felt-insert pockets.
3. Breathable inner fabric
The Italian-made cotton waffle weave and cotton wadding filling ensure optimal sweat management, preventing foam accumulation.
